March 29 1917. Made blue crepe de chine crown in my hat, and finished Helen's plaid skirt. Mamma has sore throat. Fine day. 1918. Got up earlier than usual. Hans helped remove crates, etc. from front bedroom, and I worked most of day getting it cleaned up. Rained a little. Masons began work putting in concrete cellar floor. We went to Co. Farm about six. Mrs. Peterson called in P.M. then we shopped together. Baked cake. 1919. Fine spring day. I cleaned up house, made a cushion for basket filled with Minn. cattail down; made a khaki shirt-collar; called on Mrs. Rees; walked to library and P.O. in evening. Hans gone all day in Garfield Twp., coming home soon after midnight. Very warm. Took nap in P.M. 1920. Busy day. I fried down a gallon on sausage, finished frying out lard (little over 2 gal.), scoured a big milk can, unpacked barrel of fruit jars, mended an hour; felt burn in evening. Circle letter, and letters from Aunt Emma and Julia Brekke. 1921. Easter card from Sis. Helena and I did a large washing. Windy as usual. Took a sleep. Baked bread. family consists of about 8- Adela, Helene, Oskar, Alfred Moore, and us Hans' mother set incubator full of my eggs.
