1917-1921 - 04-10

April 10 
1917. Both eyes stuck shut, and one badly swollen. Couldn't do much, but the usual feeding of a hungry 7. Pasted pictures; wrote a "Cherry Raisin" story. 
1918. Wrote to Sis. Left Varnum's 10:30. Dinner in Beresford. Went to Alson. Many farmers not home. Another very raw, windy day. We got very tired. Supper at Norin's. More than 50 at Komstad schoolhouse for our meeting. Mr. Norin to Hans: "Your better half more sympathetic talk". 
1919. Letters from Sis and Hazel Grimes. Wrote to Cousin Millie and Aunt Emma, in Canada. I was up from 11:00 A.M. till after 8:00, but lay down and slept part of time. Have very sore and painful nipple. Helped Amanda plan two aprons she made. 
1920. Baked bread, nut bread, cream cookies, and buttermilk pie, wrote to mamma; ripped off trimming from my last summer's black straw hat, and facing. Adela did the cleaning. We took baths. We went in Ford to Elwood in evening, to get more white eggs from mamma.
19 We and Orville's were at Hans' folks for dinner, inviting ourselves. Signe good. We were at Pete Weyrup's in eve an hour.-my first call there. Baby slept by 9 o'clock.
