April 28 1917. Almost the pinkeye again! Inflamed eye kept me from using it much. Hans has received contract from Rush City, Minn. Wrote circle letter. 1918. We heard Miss Sara Snell of New York at the Methodist Church talk on missions. Wrote to August, Helena, and Sis. Rained again in P.M. We read tests of seed corn, shelled it, and put more to test. 1919. Washed some baby clothes. Sis sent hooded cape, coat, wool stockings, and crocheted cap for Hilda's use. I wrote to Sis. Took nap, after missing a couple days. Planted spinach, beets, turnips. 1920. Lots of work with the chickens and goslings. Sunny again, but not very warm. I baked bread and buns, pumpkin and mock mince pies. Hans and I worked all P.M. putting field corn to test. Wrote to Florence. 1921. Minnie + I did large washing, taking till noon as usual. I manage to get a nap nearly every P.M. now. Hans made me big new food coops.
