May 3 1917. Cloudy and raw. I cleaned upstairs, also the china closet. Cut out and did all the machine work on a new dark blue Georgette crepe waist. 1918. Another summer day. Shelled seed corn six hours. Haus pus up porch swing and Howell and Eleanor Tjaden and Maurice Reese "helped" me shell corn. Washed four windows. We planted cucumbers and watermelons in evening. 1919. Cloudy again. Felt burn. Sewed a little. Mrs. Wm. Gunderson and little Will here in P.M. Amanda went home with them. Hans and I transplanted 37 pansy plants from hotbed to north of porch. Hilda awake all P.M. but slept fine at night. I slept in P.M. too. 1920. Sunny. I took milk to creamery in Ford the long way round, as hills still have bad places. Was gone less than 1 1/2 hrs. and got milk from the folks too. Put out another hen with 20 chicks, planted beets, common lettuce, more peas, and 2 long rows early potatoes. Made sheet for Hilda's bed + short curtain for 4" front window. Made bread. Busy till 9:00 P.M. 1921. We washed, as weather was fairly good. Hans' father was here to dinner. Wrote note to Laura Seward. Card from Helene. Signe has colic nearly every P.M.
