May 23
1917. Hemmed my fifth napkin, and crocheted. I get so tired of sitting around, but if I try to do much, the ligaments are strained too much to feel good. Got dinner, tho.
1918. Onions from garden to eat. Did a big 2 wk's washing. Hans out at Denison's spraying. Crocheted 1 daisy. Wrote to Sis and sent her Beatrice's white dresses. Transplanted celery and groundcherries, and planted okra and celeriac.
1919. Hilda didn't sleep till 1:00 A.M. Amanda and I busy all day washing, baking, packing, ironing, bathing, napping, etc. Got Bagley H.S. Commencement invitation from Dorothy Noyes and Cora Johnson.
1920. A busy Sunday morning, about as usual. baked cornbread for chicks, baked beans and rhubarb pie, scrubbed milk house twice, etc. Wrote to Sis. Had wienie roast in our woods in eve- Grace, Sara, Vashti + Paul Scott, John Scott's Otto Weideman's Pete Weirup's, Euphemia, Dagne, Guy Edwards', Ehler's girls, Adela, Oscar + Velma, + Clara, Henry  + Emil Gruenwald were there.
1921. Had first lettuce and onions. I sewed, but don't seem to accomplish much.
