May 26. 1917. Helen begins to act as "cook", while I give advice and wash dishes! Her school is out. I canned six quarts of rhubarb in the fireless cooker. Crocheted. 1918. Went to Memorial Sunday services in city hall. Rev. Wilcox gave fine talk. I wrote to Georgia Springer. We walked to post-office twice, drove to banks of muddy Missouri, where it washes fields away sometimes. Got caught in shower. 1919. Busy visiting and with plans for Olga's wedding. I finished her white messoline underskirt. Adela, Hans, baby, and I went shopping in Hashville for their folks. Their remodeled house, tho not quite finished, is very nice and convenient, mailed circle letter. 1920. Did odd jobs while Constance ironed. Julia Brekke, Home Dem. Agent + "Dad" Wise, Co. Agent for Clinton Co. here for dinner. Whitney's here few minutes. Hans took down both heating stoves, with a little help. Constance + I at Ehler's in evening. 1921. I have stiff neck and rheumatism in right shoulder from sweating, then chilling, last night. Good rain in night. I finished my percale dress and made Hilda a pink crepe nightie. Wrote to mamma, Anna Wilson + '15 circle letter.
