May 29 1917. Began second piece of wide insertion and made several inches of it. Worked 3 1/2 hours on my spread. 1918. Wrote to Constance and card to Helena. Crocheted 4 daisies. Still cloudy and rainy. 1919. We started from Skott's about 9:00 A.M. After some stops, got to Elmenhurst after 1:00 P.M. Almost surprised them. Visited, listened to Helen play and sing, etc. Went to bed in good time as I was sleepy. 1920. Cleaned up our bedroom, baked pumpkin pies, hoed strawberries, etc. Helped replant Golden Bantam corn in small field till Hans decided to use planter. Took nap. Wrote in Quill circle letter I had nearly 2 mo. 1921. Hot Sunday. Helped Hans strip, etc. as Alfred has today off. Minnie went to her sister's as usual, then Hans + Hilda to his folks, leaving Signe and me to sleep in peace from 11-12. Couldn't get ready to go to opening of Godard church in evening. Wrote to Mary.
