JUNE 7 1917. Woke to see Minnesota lakes. Changed cars at Crookston. Met Mr. Atwood on train. Arrived at Bogley at 11:00. Found it dry. and had had no rain. Soil very sandy. We stay at Hans' old room with Mrs. Myers. We went thru our new home-to-be. Planted 100 strawberry, 30 cabbage. and 24 celery plants. 1918. Up early, hoed all morning and after supper again, getting big garden to look better. Baked barley biscuit - fine. Got circle letter. Did my ironing in 2 hrs. in P.M. Men finally put our sidewalks in, after having yard torn up so long. 1919. Amanda and her mother baked for us and for once it did not rain. Helena's lost suitcase will be returned. She is at Olga's. They stopped in on way to a dance. 1920. Rain in morning kept us from starting home till 12:30. Only a shower here. We packed my trunk with my canned beef + apples, etc. loaded 48 chickens and hens in a box. Had Ford load. Stopped to see Beth Obey and Pauline in Tipton. Had blowout. Stopped at Elwood. Home 5:30. 1921 Had big washing - couldn't finish till after dinner as I fed it too much gas to start up again. Cut out gray rompers for Hilda and bound with plaid.
