AUGUST 10 1917. Mr. Christianson, former H.S. principal here, was here for dinner. George sent me $10 for my share of stock in Monmouth Plow Co. G.N.R.R. sent us $2 for claim on damaged dining chair. I typed and sent off Cider story. Hans and I walked to farm after supper and spent night. 1918. Hans and I got Ford load of sweet corn from garden. I canned 12 qts. of it and dried enough to make 4 more. Also canned 1 qt. watermelon pickle, 2 qt. onion pickles, 1 qt. huckleberry-apple conserve, 3 of whole tomatoes. All day job, finishing at 9:30. Letter from mamma. 1919. Had nice rain in P.M. Telegram from Gail. August here all night for dinner Wrote to mamma. Keith here for supper. We went to Lund's in evening to get Amanda 1920. Canned 2 qt. pickles, ironed a little, baked bread, dried a batch of corn. Hot. Hans and Jim both gone threshing. Found out late that we would thresh tomorrow. I dressed 2 hens. 1921. Helped iron. Cut out dress of lavender and white check voile. Signe refused her afternoon bottle, but took it at 11 P.M.
