AUGUST 17 1917. Spent five hours in schoolhouse again. Finished sandpapering, staining, & filling parts of Morris chair, which we took home. We went to school garden after supper for peas & lettuce & hoed a while. Quite warm. 1918. My enlarged family makes more cooking. Han's mother helped me clean up house. I steamed brown breads. She helped me can 6 qts. corn and 7 of whitney crabs in P.M. Rode in evening thru spirit mound, etc. Anna Wilson surprised us in P.M. driving through to Tyndale 1919. Amanda here all day. I helped Hans make a bright red and yellowsigns for "Doc Yak's" car "348" for advertising the fair. Letter from Helen, with pretty tatting for Hilda. 1920. Big washing. Constance quit at noon putting in time for me. Letter from mamma. They visited at Stuart and Chas'. Hilda and I at Lottie's for supper. At Godard church in eve, where we organized Ladies' Guild. 1921. We got our washing dried and mostly ironed. Wrote Hillside circle letter.
