August 22 1917. Did mending; we got spinach, radishes, carrots, and peas from school garden; I baked coffee cake; made inner cushions for Morris chair; started to crochet baby bonnet, in yard again. We put books, etc. in new magazine rack. Nice and warm. Got wedding invitation from Artie Gates for Sept 6 1918. Hans' folks started home on 3:00 A.M. train, which was on time. We slept late. I did a big two weeks' washing between 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. Canned 2 qts. tomato. 1919. Letter from Rex that Sis is in hospital at Fairfield. Wrote to Sis. Dry cleaned some very soiled trousers, etc. Baked apple pie and doughnuts. Took more than a yard out of my high school graduation underskirt, so that I can wear it. Had two teams working in eve. Haines there. 1920. Played "Speed Away" for Glen and Euphemia's song at S.S. 18 there. Dressed 2 chickens, made applesauce, cottage cheese, cold slaw and potato salad and "Himmels Futter" for supper for 9. Whitney's were all out and Miss Hunter. Rev. Hansen preached at Godard in eve. 50 there. 1921. We canned 3 1/2 qts. of old rooster. Cut out and started sewing on Hilda's dotted percale apron in P.M.
