Memoranda

MEMORANDA
1917. August brought rains - and also frosts. This northern Minnesota gardening looks like a discouraging proposition. I'm getting a little more acquainted, and may get to like it better here.
1918. August brought us hope that our home will be blessed by the coming of a little one to us. South Dakota gardening brings good returns.
1919. Hilda weighs 15# at less than 5 ms. can sit alone for about a minute, rattles her rattle, and is a good baby. Canning, sewing, and baby-tending, with extra jobs thrown in, keep me more than busy.
1920. Hilda learned to walk in her 16" month. She is usually very good, but has a lively temper, frowns prodigiously at strangers, and gets into lots of mischief. Constance's being gone after 4 mo. with me makes me busier.
1921. Signe weighs 24# at 7 mo. Silo filling well under way around here. Several nice rains after a dry summer are appreciated. Hilda says many sentences now.
