SEPTEMBER 12 1917. Baked white bread and cinnamon rolls, put up nearly three pints of plum butter, and ground, cooked and strained tomatoes & onions for catsup. Hans and Miss Sinclair beat Miss Robertson and me at 500 but it took 15 hands to do it! 1918. The painter varnished the dining and living room floors, while furniture crowded porch and kitchen. Did more than 2 wk's washing from 9 - 4 o'clock. Hans had seed corn meeting at Garfield Hall then went to Beresford for train for State Fair. 1919. A regular Dakota wind kept me from seeing much fair except club pageant and club awards. Didn't go to grounds till 10 A.M. when Hans came in the club ford for us. Our whole crowd went to Wolsey by bus, where we ate supper, then went to Vermillion from there, leaving at 8:30. 1920. Up at 7 and had to hurry to get to S.S. 14 there. Olga invited us all down for dinner, but Whitney's and Geo. Crone's of Missouri here in P.M., also Lyman Hall's. Wrote to mamma.
