SEPTEMBER 19 1917. Ironed. Went shopping in afternoon, then to schoolhouse, where I took shower bath. Hans and I went on exploring tour in old school bldg. We four played pitch in evening. 1918. Canned 6 qts. apple butter - (the last of the Wealthy we got from Denison's) - 5 of cabbage and 1 pt. vine peach. Baked bread. Hans and I practically finished picking the last of the navy beans, and pie pumpkins. 1919. Baked bread, mopped my bedroom, cleaned the grocery cupboard, canned 3 pt. spinach then it got so hot I had to quit and take a nap. 1920. Took Hilda to S.S. Only 9 there. Baked beans and roasted meat for tomorrow. Velma here for dinner. Took lunch to Hans binding corn, in P.M. Showered a little. Helped him milk. 1921. Rained all night. I went with Lafe Scotts' to Maquoketa and brought our ford home, by 9:30. Rained again. Did more garment repairing. Got Hillside circle letter and answered it. Baked bread by 10:30 P.M.
