October 2. 1917. Baked white and rye bread, did most of the ironing. 1918. Cleaned Hans' good suit. In P.M., Mrs. Weidemann, Amanda, and we went to Henry Schneider's, near Huntsville. We also tried to find Olga among the Perry Twp. hills, but gave up in disgust. After a good supper Mrs. Schneider (Margaret Weidemann) made for us, went back to Skott's. 1919. Ironed front room curtains, made 1 1/2 qts. watermelon pickles, and baked bread. Hilda and I slept together on the bed more than an hour, I finally getting rid of a dull headache from lack of sleep. Embroidered a little on Hilda's dress. 1920. Canned 7 qt. spiced sweet apples, that Olga gave us, and 4 pt. peach butter, the last from our trees. Ironed and mended a little. Tired. Letter from Sis. They expect to move in near Vinton the 15th. 1921. We went to Pleasant Creek church in A.M. Some load in Rex's Ford, 3 grownups and 6 youngsters. We all went to Vinton a little while, failed to see [Orpha?] Ka Del Urice, but saw Margaret Deischer Hooper. Hans and Olga and their father back about 6 + stayed over.
