October 5 1917. Cleaned downstairs. Put up a qt of citron-orange conserve. Dry cleaned Hans' coat, etc. Margaret went to Bemidgi for week end. In the evening we printed pictures in the dark-room in the high school, then while they were washing we read, then had a Victrola concert with other teachers. 1918. Canned the rest of 20 qt. grape juice, etc. Mamma gave me 4 qt. plums. Rode to field, where we rode around on boys' new Heider tractor with George. Helped make cider and canned 5 1/2 qt. to take along. Enjoyed music by Helen on her new piano. August came in P.M. Mamma gave me $1 for birthday. 1919. Woke at 9 to find August here. Baked pumpkin pies. Martin Swedling's invited here for dinner; had Mo. R. catfish. They stayed for supper, also August, and Kathryn Doohens. Swedling's + we played 500 till 9:00. A sunny mild day. 1920. Made grape jam, canning, 1 pt. Dressed a chicken. Finished last week's ironing and did a little mending. Got the mail. Cut out 5 pr. cream outing panties for Hilda. 1921. Minnie ironed, etc. then in evening went to Lost Nation to stay a week at Hamann's. Amanda came up to stay with me.
