October 18 1917. Made two more muslin quilt protectors, for my two old quilts. Got out my old blue wool dress and fixed it up for every day wear. Snowed hard all day, bringing six inches of snow, and drifts. 1918. Grass green yet, nasturtiums and tomatoes at house also. Canned 9 1/2 qts. kraut, crocheted on doily, walked to town in P.M. Letter from Constance, teaching in log school in Clemwater Co. Hans and I harvested 3 more bu. late potatoes. "Chesty" Miller's here in eve. 1919. I did the washing while Amanda cleaned. I also baked chocolate cake. Went to town, where Hans found me. Hilda weighs almost 19#. Swanson's sent in a rooster. Sent baby dress to Flo. We went to see "The Man from Funeral Ridge." Got pumpkins in evening from country. Put Hilda on 5 feeds a day. 1920. Cleaned the silver, baked cream cookies, swept Harry's and front rooms (first time in two weeks), and cut out and made Hilda a pair of Eden cloth (soft muslin) panties. Wrote to Leslie for apples, and made parcel post order to M.W. + Co. Letter from mamma. 1921. Nice wash day. Minnie ironed some, too. I made Signe a cadet blue gingham dress. Miss Hunter here, home for cornhusking vacation. I finished HIlda's second gray guinea cloth bloomers.
