October 20 1917. Made a quart of cranberry conserve. The big barrel of apples papa sent came. Snowed some and melted some. I baked oatmeal cookies. Hans and Murl Holte got a load of fodder from Knox' farm. 1918. Another quiet Sunday. Several "flu" cases among the "S.A.T.C." have developed into pneumonia. I wrote to Olga. In late P.M., we took August out to Jasperson's, and stopped there a little while. Hans put up a nice shelf in rear entry. Letter from Sis. 1919. Dressed a chicken Swanson's gave Hans. Chris T. Nelson here for dinner. Cut out my red wool waist. Did my ironing and mending. Wrote to Anna and Partha. 1920. Dressed a chicken, baked pumpkin pies, mopped; Julia Brekke came for dinner, then Hilda and I went with her to Everett Boldt's for Guild. She demonstrated "Short Cuts in Sewing". Hilda had to stick close to me all the time. More than 35 women there. 1921. Signe cut her first tooth, about 15 days younger than Hilda did. Made Signe a warm every day dress of gray flannel and blue flowered flanelette.
