October 25 1917. Finished ironing, cleaned girls' room. Pulled threads on one end of linen tablecloth for hemstitching. Mrs. Hansell and Mrs. Oberg called. While Hans fitted up electrolysis apparatus at school I crocheted, on beading for baby bonnet. 1918. Wrote to mamma, and card to "Mac". No school next week yet, tho "flu" less numerous in town. 3 S.A.T.C. boys have died here of flu-pneumonia. Licked 600 postage stamps in office in P.M. Started to snow! first of season. August came in evening. Letter from Helena. 1919. Got home from box supper at 12:30. Baby and all of us slept till 8. I helped with the washing- clothes froze stiff. Sewed a little on my dress. Hans to Elk Point and stayed all night at Garfield. 1920. Blacked our Round Oak heater, did some more patching. Got parcel post order from M.W. I sent five days ago. Hilda delighted with her new red mittens. Getting cooler. 19
