November 12 1917 Baked mince pies and gingerbread. Went to town in a.m. Had slight sore throat. Fixed up old dress for a slip. Finally got at tablecloth again and hemstitched a yard. Knitted. Got pickle fork for wedding present from Edith Bliss 1918 Did a large washing - three by 11. Engine stopped so many times, it took me longer. Hans overhauled it in eve- we had used wrong lubricating oil. Finished and sent circle letter and one to Constance, also write Hazel Scott. Men are erecting our garage. We get a gal. of milk three times a week from Devinson's now. 1919. Shoveled snow, canned 4 1/2 qts. pumpkin (the last to can). Made last romper buttonholes, worked on Hilda's coat, washed flannels for her. Bright and very cold. Cut out pair of brown shoes for Hilda from tops of Amanda's. Letter from Hazel they probably can't stop here to see us. 1920. Washed my kitchen windows as it was so nice and bright- tho cold. Swept Harry's room, baked pumpkin pies. Mended some more. Letter from Sis. Played our last game of whist, Harry and I getting 1 out of 3 from Hans and Frank. 19
