November 16 1917 Ironed and bottled another quart of apple juice. Hemstitched an hour-all the time daily I seem to find. Took shower bath. Mended. Went to No. 9 school in evening - our old neighborhood. 47 there. Mr. Anderson went instead of Halvorsen. 1918. Rained hard most of day. I finished long-cloth dress and mended the week's hose. Baked gingerbread. Cut little raglan dress pattern, and white striped dimity dress by it. Went to a "rainy-day party" at Dunlap's in P.M. where I crocheted on doily. We dug more than 1/2 bu. pie carrots. August came in P.M. 1919. A fine day. After preparing the third time for August and Beth, he phone that they couldn't get here! I baked buns, pumpkin pie, roasted a chicken, etc. Miss Horsfall came after dinner and stayed till 9:00 P.M. We played 500. Amanda went to Crawford's to work for her board. 1920. Fine sunny cold day. Washing all done by ten except hanging some I didn't want frozen. Only 4 washes. Sewed some after a sound nap. Hans' father here for dinner. They finished shingling shed. Adela brought Pearl Tubbs here for supper, then they went to lecture course. Letter from Mary. 19
