November 21 1917. Ironed a little. Up late, as neither of us feel extra. Rainy and windy. I held the Assembly at High School down for 2 periods for Hans, who had a lot of milk to test. Stayed home alone in evening. Wrote circle letter, and typed for Hans. 1918. A gray day, spitting a little snow. I fixed up a black wool batiste skirt for everyday, sewed on my waist, started to crochet ecru collar in filet and popcorn stitch. Went to office with Hans to see new stereopticon work. Letter from Aunt Minnie. Wrote to Emily Hitchcock. Hans went on 7:38 P.M. train. 1919. Living rooms "cluttered up" with packing - and of course had several callers - Rev. Wilcox brought our church certificates and Hilda's baptismal certificate. Ironed before 10 A.M., mended, packed cedar chest and my trunk (partly). Made Hilda muslin panties to wear over her rubber diapers. 1920 Didn't seem much like Sunday, except that it was quiet and a little lonesome. I baked quick graham raisin bread. Wrote to Sis, Constance, and Euphenia. 19
