November 25 1917. Up at nine. Read a little, cleaned up after the party, wrote to Edith. 1918. Did two weeks' washing in two hours or so- engine works like a top- when it has enough gasoline. Fine day. Six of us worked on comfort kits for Italian soldiers at Stewart's. She served tea. I finished second crocheted doily. Margaret's roommate, Bernice Burns of Couton came. 1919. Packed a box of stuff. Letter from Sis. 1920. A gray Thanksgiving Day. Good thing we accepted neither Sis' nor Hans' folks' invitation, as Hilda is really not fit to be out. Her cold is worst she's ever had, + teething. For dinner I had riced potatoes, peas, roast goose, gravy, prune dressing, celery, cranberries, pumpkin pie with whipped cream. I also canned 2 qt. cranberry-apple butter. Just Harry Long here besides us. Made detachable cuffs for my Hoover apron. 19
