November 30 1917. Miss Clark, Hans and I took a Ford ride, some ten miles or so in the very fresh air. Lunch at noon, dinner at 6:30. Miss Clark taught me how to purl in knitting. I made 2 doz. rye sandwiches for the Y.W.C.A. card party. We went, just for lunch, at 10:00. We took Miss Clark to the 1:28 A.M. train, for Chisholm. 1918. Mild sunny day. Feel some better. Baked pumpkin pies. Fixed up old embroidered flaxon waist to wear under new waist. In evening I went with Hans to Oscar Ellefason's in Pleasant Valley Twp for a comm. meeting. I run picture slides "Alfalfa" for him. Oyster supper. Home at midnight. 1919. A busy Sunday. Hans and I continued with our packing most of the time and I did a little mending for him. Amanda was with us all day. Hilda first drew herself up to a sitting position in her cab. 1920. Made three quarts of apple butter, finished Hilda's apron. Wrote card to mamma, that we plan to come there Sunday, also letter to Mary. Harry finished the corn husking. 19
