December 1 1917. Up late, both in early morning, and forenoon. Mended a little, helped Hans finish putting up storm coop on back porch. Halverson and Stowell where here in evening to play 500. They beat us always. 1918. Up late, and with the worst running cold in my head. Roast the goose Hans' mother sent to us. Read all of "Peg O' My Heart." 1919. More packing and more snow. Hans helps now until we will finish crating and packing up. Mrs. Denison over in P.M. and brought my electric iron. 1920. Quite warm till chilly wind rose in A.M. Only Harry here for dinner. I finally finished Hilda's gray coat, fixed up my old gym blouse for everyday wear, and sewed new blue buttons on my old blue wool maternity dress. Letter from Sis. Wrote to Emma Reno. 19
