December 7 1917. Ironed. -20° again. Did Friday sweeping downstairs, mended seven pieces. Crocheted. Cogswell's were here in evening. She and I beat in a two hand game then the men beat us 3. 1918. Edna was sick and I took her place in office all day, folding folders, etc. Crocheted on collar. Hans gone to Irene all P.M. and evening till late. Bernice got word Margaret has the flu. I surely had it too, in mild form. Wrote to Helena and Olga. 1919. Hilda slept sound from 9 last night till 5:45 A.M. then most of forenoon. Florence's mother and father there for dinner. Had ice cream—all we could eat—in P.M. Hilda played on floor for first time lately. 1920. Sent card to momma. Did the ironing, some mending, and made Hilda a warm petticoat from my old grey wool sweater. 19
