December 11 1917. Cleaned my blue challis dress, lined crocheted baby bonnet with pale blue silk and sent it to Hazel's Ruth. At Red Cross I sewed on hospital shirts, also went to the girls' Silver Tea. Wrote a Rye and Oats story in evening. 1918. Did a big 2 1/2 wks. washing. Typed a couple hours in office in P.M. Long letter from Helena. I sent card to her hostess this year, Mrs. Wilson, who has the "flu". Finished ecru collar for Adela. Margaret came back after her attack of "flu". 1919. Martha and her children went to visit Mary's. I spent an hour or so with the Leffler's, next door. Met Bob's wife, Kathryn. Victor took me to 12:30 train, an hour late. Had 3 hr wait in Cedar Rapids station. West Liberty at 10 P.M. Leslie and mamma met me in their new Dodge. 1920. Busy getting ready to go to Davenport, baked apple pies, pressed Hans' suit, etc., mopped, finished Hilda's handkerchief, packed suitcase. Letters from Euphenia and mamma. 19
