DECEMBER 26 1917. Cold. Edith B. sent me paper bead necklace. More letters and cards came. Hemstitched on table-cloth, beginning second time around. Mr. Atwood and we played pitch and 500 in evening. Up late - only two meals. 1918. Mended socks for August, then we all went down town. Helena and I selected green and brown plaid silk for new waist for her. I cut it out and we sewed on it. Got long letter from Edith Bliss, at home, Japanese plate from Wildred, and we all got h'dk'fs from Hans' mother. More Christmas cards. Started crocheting ecru collar for Helena. 1919. Made Hilda everyday dress from old white wool waist of mine. Washed for her. Walked to mailbox in P.M. Got card from Frank. Went to Grange at Fitzgeralds' in eve. Left Hilda with mamma, as both had colds. We played "Somer''set" and "500" there, + crocheted on big center piece. 1920. Six inches or so of snow. Busy mopping, etc, all forenoon. Took first nap for about a week. Oscar here yet, helping with chores, hunting rabbits. I dressed two rabbits. Hans had another bad spell - flu or whatever he has - in evening. 19
