JANUARY 14 1936 Tried to iron, but heating element played out. Cut out dress for Kathryn from my old green wool. Bill Byer here in eve. Elmer & Mrs . [illegible] brot up 6 more calves 1937. Made mincemeat and apple jelly, cut out a smock, using my F.B. pattern. Working and worrying about an assignment from D.R. Murphy of 1000 words on Poultry! 1938. Went in when children went to school. Went to McF. Starter stuck in our driveway, & Carl Brandt happened along & cranked it. At H. Ec. Club in H. Ec. Bldg -- textiles lab. Arranged with Miss Reilly to give book review over WHA in March. 19// Thru washing by 10:30, Kathryn hanging. Cut and made Frank another pair of pajamas, plain blue ones. Made 2 fruit pies. Tired, a bit of headache. 19
