FEBRUARY 12 [1936] Colder. Card from Hans he got to Ames at 5 P.M. Fine Lincoln programs on the air. Baked bread & date-apricot bars. Snow drifting again. 4" more. Got corn from Frank Rupp's crib, alone, & got some ground. Tired from loading--too hard on my back. Levi & Edna Maxwell here in eve. Card from Sarah Field in Japan, & Valentine from Dorothy [McCab?]. [1937] Thick fog, turning to rain in PM. I baked bread, gingerbread, we ironed, K baked oatmeal cookies & made salad for party. 52 at farewell party for Brandt's. Girls & I went. 10 tables 50. [1938] Sunny, ice melted from roads. S. S. & Church at Trousdale helped arrange for missionary meeting. K helped draft const. for Middleton Christian Endeavor. Read, wrote Hans.
