AUGUST 10 19 Riley's left about 9:30 for Decorah. Hans left in P.M. for a whole week of evening creamery meetings up north, [caving?] no schedule. 19 Card from Flo. she wrote yesterday! They may our first visitors at Madison. Helped iron a bit. At church a while in [M?]. as I'm serving on Flower Show since I'll not be here to help the Fair put on by Ladies' Aid - Wrote Hans. We canned 3 qt. corn and 4 qt. blackberries from Pauline's and 7 qt. beans from Allen's. 19 Frank and I went in with Hilda before 7. [He?] had two teeth pulled. I had tonsils taken out by Dr. Hurlbut. In room 220 at Methodist Hospital. Hilda and Kathryn to see me in P.M. Also Gertrude Keyes. Slept. 19 We got a lot of mending done. 2 service men here , and got elec. oven and refrigerator in order. Took Mrs. Jardine and Mrs. Dyer to Missionary society at Kirkpatrick's. Heavy rain on way home and on way to Haley's to take Sig. home. 19
