1936. Left here by 9 Ann C, Delores, Signe and I. Lunch in Marshalltown park, Ames at 3. Rested. B. showed us formal [goods?]. Mary took us to Riley's and downtown. 1937. All of us left at 9:30 - had dinner at Roy Dyas'; found only boys at Ande's; took Helene trunk to her folks; supper at Harlan Ruff's. Home 9:30 1938. Foggy and I felt weak. We canned 4-1/2 qt. each of corn and snap beans and 14 qt. tomato juice. Hans worked near Racine and came home for supper. Card from Mrs. Roberts in Oregon. 1939. Left at 8, arrived Des M. at noon. Got lodging at 3200 University Ave, walked to State Fair. Sam Fred then Rita and Dorothy demonstrate. Talked to Pat [Kenigan?], Krause, Vera [Wingerson?] Snyder. Rested at 4H dorm. Night show. 19
