DECEMBER 3 1936. Washed. Snowed a bit, but cleared and clothes dried. Read and wrote (7) letter. Mild and sunny P.M. 1937. Damp and cloudy. Canned 3 qt. beets. Sewed on Frank's overcoat. Mended. Girls at cantata practise in eve. Wrote Bess Clark (in Phlippines) and Sarah Field in Japan. 1938. In bed most of day, but typed and crocheted some. Hans got elec. motor and pump jack to pump hard water in cistern. He went to Washington in P.M. Cloudy. Kathryn baked pies. 1939. Signe and Kathryn and I to S.S., church and dramatic cantata "Ruth the Moabitess" in eve. Hans and Velma and Frank home in A.M. bringing pork and duck and chicken I dressed. To [illegible] to see Maude Campbell Parkhurst - 1st in 25 yrs. Birthday dinner at 6 for 5 pH. B girls for Velma. 19
