An anti Slavery song was then sung A committee of two were then appointed to prep and present a declaration of sentiment J.Q. Oliver and A. B. Condit were appointed said committee who reported the following Declaration of Sentiment which was read by the secretary and unanimously adopted Declaration The convention assembled in Des Moins Co Iowa Territy to organize a county Anti Slavery Society promptly seize the oportunity to promulgate the following Declaration [underscore] of Sentiment [underscore] as cherished by them in relation to the enslavements of one sixth part of the American people More than sixty eight years have elapsed since a band of patriots convend in the city of Philadelphia to devise measure for the deliverance of this country from a foreign yolk The corner [dash] stone upon which they founded the temple of Freedom was broadly this "That all men are created equal" that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights that amoing these are life Lyberty and the the pursuit of happiness at the sound of their trumpet call 3,000,000 of people rose up as from the sleep of death and rushed to the strife of blood deeming it more glorious
