AU SECOURS! SOMEONE PLEASE tell me why I get offset on some sheets and not on others? No, I can't slipsheet - I'm not Siva. ...HELEN Grimaldi [image] Grimaldi shared my bed last night. His rotting corpse lay cold and bare And I, so frozen stiff with fright I could not move, beside him there Heard one, two, three, four hours sound Like one, two, three, four years of dread. Grimaldi should be under ground -- But only now he shared my bed. Grimaldi's throat was bruised and blue Where my ten fingers once choked off His sobbing breath. Those eyes I knew, Those lips so quick to leer and scoff, There in the moonlight taunted me. The gray lips jeered with jibes unsaid And smirked with silent mockery -- Last night Grimaldi shared my bed. Outside the window small things stirred. Inside the room I lay with death -- Until he moved! He spoke no word But in a fog of fetid breat He pressed me to him. Bony claws Bit at my shoulders. Red eyes shone Venom dripped evilly from his jaws. I screamed -- and then I was alone -- Alone with one soul-twisting dread: Tonight Grimaldi shares my bed! ...CRANE 16
