THE FERRY LINE by James V Taurasi Illustrated by Louie Maurino "Hello Captain!" said Captain Bob as he stepped into the room, "Here ia our report on our last trip." "Mm-mm," answered the Airport Captain, "O.K. Bob, you have a three week vacation on your hande now. Where's Koso?" "Koso is taking his vacation already, he's on his Venus with Princess Solor." "Well, it's about time he took a honeymoon anyway. What do you plan to do with the three weeks you get?" "I don't know," answered Bob, "guess i'll take a [illegible] to the Moon and take a look at their mines. I've always wanted to do that." "If you want a change from the regular space trips I would suggest that you take a ride on that new Ferru L-Line between Earth and {illegible}. It's a honey of a trip. the ships are built to carry passengers in comfort and not in speed. They take about two days to do the trip, but it's one of he best trips I've been on. It's like a hotel. Why n-not try it?" "O.K. Captain, I think I'll do it and return to duy on Mars. I'll take this trip to the Moon, look it over for a week or so and then meet Koso on Mara and return to duty." A [illegible} hours later, a small bag in his hands, Captain Bob boarded the Moon Line Hotel Ship, Atlantis. He found to his amazement that the ship was a very large one, over two-thousand feet long and one-thousand feet wide. It looked very awkward and Bob wondered how it ever left the ground. But the inside was fixed up to perfection. Large dining rooms, a bathing pool so large that it took a good ten minutes to swim it's length. A And the state-rooms, bob had a two room suite that were the last word on any hotel on Earth and that was going some. "Gosh," said Captain Bob, "If they could only give this tub some speed, it'll be the finest ship in the Solar System. What a layout, what a layout. It's going to be heaven to be in space on a *************************** This the second story of bob and Koso in this issue by James V. Taurasi is by far better than the first for the simple reason that it has been written twice as long and has more of a better plot. You can call this a sort of sequel to the first one. Bob ate, slept and played g-games to his hearts content, but the most interesting thing aboard the ship was a little red-head by the name of Helen. Bob was with her almost every minute of he day. Early the next day, Helen came running to him with news that there wwas a small swift ship close by. "I was passing the control room and I heard the pilot talking about it," she said,"The sounded worried, said something about a threat the spaceline had received a few days ago. I'm scared!" "And what were you doing up near the control room?" asked Bob, "I thought passengers weren't allowed up there!" "Well,....gosh, I wanted to see what the place looked like." "O.K." said Bob, "You go to your cabin, I'll have a looksee about this, they may have talked just to get you scared for going up there." "But they didn't see me!" put in Helen, "I'm sure they didn't" "I'll go see about it, you go to your cabin, where I'll know I'll find you." "Allright Bob, I'll go!" Bob walked up and entered the control room. "Hey!" shouted one of he pilots, "No passengers are allowed here you'll have to.....hey! It's Captain Bob!" "Yes, I'm Bob, What's this I hear about a ship following us?" "Huh? How did you find out?"
