THE FANEWS October 25, 1946 F R E E Walter Dunkelberger, Editor and Publisher - 1443 4th Avenue So., Fargo, North Dakota. Published whenever the news warrants it. Special Issue. FANEWS STILL DUNKS Fargo, No. Dakota - October 25th. The decision was reached last night that the following bulletin or statement should be issued: "FANEWS is not merging with any other fan magazine for the present. When and if a merger does occur it will, in all probability be with the projected magazine which we have planned on producing for some time." "Circulation last issue was 526. For some reason fans seem to doubt our circulation figures until the last possible moment and then when they discover we weren't padding our figures back out of taking FaNEWS over for the same reason we'd like to get rid of it - TOO MUCH WORK." _ Taurasi has written us that he can absorb about 100-125 of our subscribers, but that would leave more than 200 more paid subscriptions out in the cold. It is probably as much our fault as anyones that Jim wasn't aware of our circulation - we hadn't thought to tell him, feeling that he must be aware of them as we've published the data on several occasions. He evidencally hadn't noticed. Hence - F*NEWS will continue under its present policy and from the same place until plans for our new mag are fully developed, when our new mag is ready we will merge the two. To our correspondents: A new mailing of the large size is now in preparation please rush any bulletins you have to us for presentation in the mailing. To our advertisers: Please send in your copy as soon as possible if you desire to have it appear in our next mailing. R E M E M_B_E R I FANEWS will still appear from: 1443 4th Avenue So. Fargo, North Dakota FANEWS will still cost only 2c per sheet (why pay more?) FANEWS will still have the same policy. FaNEWS will still go to all subscribers. FANEWS is still, as always, available to anyone who cares to subscribe.
