(C) Tailored at Fashion Park (C) Tailored at Fashion Park (C)Tailored at Fashion Park IOWA FIGHTERS HUSKY BUNCH (continued from page five) Willian Donnelly Although he had played his allotted time, Bill came out again this year when war conditions made it possible. In his two years on the varsity team of '15 and '16 he was marked as a dangerous man by all teams especially in his ability to grab forward passes from some anxiously waiting opponent's hands. His best playing is seen in his defense work for he can be said to be the team's strongest defensive man. When they come in his direction, they are generally stopped and thrown for a loss. His addition of a number of pounds in weight make him a good offensive man. He has played both halves and the full-back position this year. He will probably get into the Homecoming game today. Otto Voege Despite his lack in weight Otto has established himself in the minds of Iowa fans as a good fighter always ready to go for a yard or two when the situation demands it. He played in several games last year and has shown up well in all. This is his last year on the varsity squad. It is probable that he will get in today's lineup before the four quarters are ended. Everett Smith This likely young fellow has played a wonderful end position all year, starting at the right wing in all but the last game. Last year he played [..ackle] on the freshman team, and also acted as captain. He is fast, a good defensive man, and takes the passes in an easy manner. This is is first year as a varsity man and with two more ahead of him he should develop into a sensational end for the Hawkeye eleven. Though he weill not start the contest today he may be sent in. Earl Worth This big husky coming from Grinnell college went out for football at the start of the season and has made it merry for the rest of the squad. He played in several os this year's games and has given a good account of himself. His weight and shiftiness makes him a good man in the line. Guerdon Parker This right half back has set things ablaze in the Iowa camp by his sensational runs in the games that he has played so far. nI the Cornell game he made three or four runs of 25 yards each and his ability in receiving and shooting forward passes has made him a valuable man to the set of backfield men. He has been out of the last two games. Jack Watson, Athletic Trainer An athletic trainer who has won fame as an athlete in Europe is Jack Watson. There used to be two real trainers in this country, sportsmen say. Now that Mike Murphy is dead, Jack Watson occupied the front position when trainers are named. Hack was regarded as one of the greatest track men, holding the world's record in the running hop, step and jump. Watson always sends his team into battle in the best possible shape. Many an Iowa man has come back in the second half, strengthened by one of Jack's bandages and played a hard game. Not only as a trainer has Watson won his spurs at Iowa, but by the track team he turned out last spring, one that won the title from the Ames crack squad. When the Hawkeyes trot out on the field today not one of them will have to leave the game because of a lame ankle or a sprained tendon has not been given proper care or treatment. It has long been said that Iowa teams go into a game in the best shape of any team in the West, and the credit for this may be duly awaarded to Jack Watson. Jack says all the men are fit for a hard battle today. Iota Xi Epsilon will entertain, Jessie Adams of Adair, an alumna of las year. Hazel Proctor, Myrtle Peterson, and Edna Hook of Des Moines; and Anna Sampson of Ringstead who are coming for today's game. Marian Holmes, a probationer in the Nurses training school is ill in the hospital. Homecoming guests at the Delta Gamma house are: Catharine Turney of Fairfield, Dorothy McCorkindael of Odebolt, Helen Nelson of Ottumwa, Sallie Marshal, Mrs. Joe Enoe of Boston, and Mrs. Leroy Rader. Laura Wilhelm, a freshman in 1916-17 is teaching in the grades at Maquoketa. TODAY MINNESOTA=IOWA FOOTBALL GAME Game Called at 2 P.M.
