Monday 4:15 P:M: (Jan. 16th 1939) Dear Family: -- Last night I did something that I have never done before, something I have often sworn I would never do. However, necessity and other circumstances often alter convictions. I stayed up and studied Intermediate Acct'g until 2 A:M: Even then when I retired I was far from confident. Happily the test wasn't as difficult as it might have been, and I believe I got along quite well. On Thursday or Friday of this week I shall register for the second semester. I think I have enough money to get by alright. If I run short toward the end of the month I'll let you know. During the month of February my income should be right around $80. Not a bad little sum in any league.
