remember that you are their guest. Be obedient, quiet, and helpful. Nothing stands out so much in a small boy as being quiet, reserved, instantly obedient and cheerfully helpful. I only have one in my cabin and to him I have naturally become quite attached. To be a tough, rugged boy is every lad's ambition. But to be a gentleman, to be kindly, charitable, thoughtful as well as tough and rugged is much more to be desired. And he who can be both is much tougher in the long run. He is admired and respected by all but those who are too "small" to acclaim fine characteristics. I have been so pleased to find you improving in many ways each time I come home. Keep it up; never cease to strive for the best. You - as well
