Tuesday [Oct. 4, 1938] Dear Mother:- I have so many good, interesting things to tell you. I hardly know where to start. And how happy I am to be able to write in this vein - there have been so many problems that I have asked you to help me on in the past. But we can - and are - all progress together, our family, one for all and all for one, never once looking back or becoming apprehensive, placing our trust and confidence where it should be placed. I hope that all of you folks still at home are happy, contented, and at peace, and that you and father are giving George a lot of intimate
