[Oct. 16, 1938] Sunday Dear Mother: - Well we finally won one although not in a very impressive manner. However, to win, even from Chicago is something. I didn't injure my ankle any further, but I wasn't able to dodge and cut yesterday as I should. After church today I went out to Mrs. Wienecke's for lunch again. Before I left she said it came to her that Jacob also wrestled with his thigh (ankle) and he received an idea and would not let it go till it blessed him; admonishing me to hang to my good idea likewise. That sounds good to me and I shall hang on. Again
