[Oct 25, 1938] Tuesday Dear Mother: I do not know what the developments will be by the time this letter reaches you, but whatever they are stand calm that I am in good hands. It looks as if the lid is about to blow off down here with regards the football situation - rumors that Tubbs will resign before the season is out, etc. I feel mentally calm & confident. Last night I talked with Mrs Wienecke for awhile. She said she would like to stay by me until football season was over. When I asked her if it was the thing to do she said under the circumstances
