[Nov. 7, 1938] Monday noon Dear Family: I trust you will pardon me if I should write facetiously today. How a team could play so well on one Saturday and so rotten on the next is beyond me. We were right back on our heels against Minn. again. They have a fine team but the poor display of Iowa caused our defeat mainly. Your son jr. should have stuck to ping pong and parlor games. As for studies - I should have stuck to Mother Goose rhymes and picture books. Everything that I have
