Fort Omaha, Nebraska July 2, 1943 University of Iowa Alumni Ass'n, Iowa City, Iowa Gentlemen: Inclosed you will find a copy of a poem I have recently written in tribute to Nile Kinnick. I thought possibly you might be interested in having it. I did not know Nile personally, but being a native of Iowa, of Clarion, Iowa to be more specific, I have seen him play ball on numerous occasions and have always admired him. It may be from a strictly poetic angle that the poem is not too good, but it makes up in sincerety for whatever it may lack otherwise. You may feel free to use this poem in any manner you may deem fit. Very truly yours, Clair J. Norris Cpl. Clair J. Norris Hq. Det. St. Comp. Fort Omaha, Nebraska
