From Lou Ledbetter 9/3 [1996?] Dear Bob: [Hobbs] When innate lethargy (euphemism for laziness) is coupled with advanced age, not much gets done. Hence my tardiness in replying to your 7/26 letter. I worry about my ability to accelerate my normal saunter thru life in the event that our small cabin should catch fire. Your "A Morning Over Negros" coupled with the statistics concerning your group shows that our contribution was proportional to our rank (Lt.S.G. to Admiral). Your reference to my "wisdom" makes me feel like an impostor, but I'll accept it, nevertheless. Our summer here is two thirds over, and though we are no longer very active, we are fortunate to lie in this lovely environment.
