the trip back here. The hotel accommodations are limited. I have very little time off, and so on; besides only a visit with all of you at home on Hamilton St. would really fill the bill. Sumner's marriage announcement came as quite a surprise. Didn't know that he was involved in a serious affair of the heart. I have never met the Shuler girl, but on occasion have seen her picture in the D.M. paper and wished that I did know her. I count Chas. Shuler of Davenport, her uncle, a good friend of mine. When I send my fortnighter home, as I intend to do, keep an eye out for my wrist watch. All things considered it may be best to get along with a Westclox and the plane clock. Gus, it was wonderfully fine to hear from you again - and in duplicate copy, for what reason I don't know. Your suggestion for me letting you know of my whereabouts sounds ok and I shall plan to act on it. Roughly, and without much basis, this is my guess for our itinerary in the next two or three months. About April 10th I think we will board the carrier, and perhaps operate off her for a short while even though she stays in one of these eastern bays. The latter part of April we might head for the Panama Canal and end up at San Diego. There we might get F6Fs and train in them for a month. Then we probably would head for Pearl Harbor and on to other points. This is pure conjecture, and it may be
