the same as when I first arrived -- gunnery, glide bombing, night flying, FC&P, etc. Bill Reiter and I are flying together as a team. We aren't the aces of the squadron, but I think we can do our job alright, and he is a good fellow as you will remember from Jacksonville. Frankly, old buddy, I have sorely missed your companionship. For the most part I have spent my liberties by myself, either in Boston or New York, and sad to relate have scarcely no romancing. In both places I have seen some good plays and heard some good bands. In Boston one night I noticed that brother Horton was appearing in "Springtime for Henry." Went backstage afterwards just for the hell of it. Happily, he remembered me and asked me to join a party he was giving at the Copley-Plaza. Dined on Lobster-Newburg, held hands with his leading lady, and had a big time -- or have I told you all this before? Ben is due to finish up his "P" boat training the forepart of May. He is in the Marines and anticipates getting sent to Cherry Pt., N.C. for operational training in land-based medium bombers. Also expects to get 22 days leave. Hope he isn't disappointed, for he is naturally quite anxious to see his girl.
