I now know the exact date when we are to leave this station and where our ship will be when we board her. You will understand that I cannot in good conscience divulge these details, however, this will probably be the last long letter you will receive from me which should indicate something. It is my guess that we will spend  from three to four weeks on a shakedown cruise then return to the mainland for F6Fs. Between now and the 1st of June I would suggest that you address my mail NCK, VF-16, Commandant, 5th Naval District, Norfolk, Va. Always indicate my rank, but never use the name of my carrier. After June 1st the chances of any mail reaching me before I return is pretty small, but unless otherwise directed send it in care of Postmaster Atlantic Fleet, N.Y.C. You are at liberty to speculate on my whereabouts if you keep it strictly within the family. All correspondence will be censored henceforward so use your head. I expressed my large suitcase home today and the key will be enclosed in this letter. It is coming C.O.D. which expense should be met from my account. Inside the Wilkie booklet will be found a squadron picture of all but two or three of the pilots. Should it develop when Ben is home on leave that he needs more money to cover the ring, travel, and entertainment expense, please advance him
