If I am not mistaken a lot of men were ruined through real estate deals during the last war. However, land prices haven't gone up appreciably as yet, have they? It would seem that now would be a much better time than immediately after the war. The whole proposition of course would depend on whether you would be my agent or not? Do you have the time & would you want to accept the responsibility? Whatever fee, or percentage, would normally be yours in such a matter I would insist on paying. It is my belief that members of a family should stick together for mutual benefit. Now surely we are shrewd enough to improve our lot. We sure as hell won't increase our holdings if we don't put to work what we have. If you think this idea has some merit and you are willing to take it on please say yes. I'll then make whatever arrangements are necessary to put the money at your disposal & you can then proceed as you think best. There would never be any misunderstanding between us. If one or the other made a mistake it would be cause for regret, no more, no less. With my present rank it is easy to send home at least $100 a month, and it is a sure thing that I shall be a jg in 6 months & perhaps a full lt. within a year. Should I get tagged my insurance money ($10,000) would be available. Now for goodness sakes try to think of some positive reasons as well as negative. That goes for you too, mother!
